Frequently Asked Questions
Is Elite Football School a full-time programme?
Yes. Students transfer from their current school and attend Elite Football School full-time for one academic year. This applies to Transition Year (4th Year) only.
Will students fall behind in their education?
No. We provide the core TY subjects -English, Irish, and Maths - alongside football, personal development, and other TY components. Students return to their original school for 5th Year having fully completed TY.
Is this recognised by schools?
Yes. Students transfer with the support of their current school. We’re happy to provide any documentation or speak directly with school staff if needed to support the process.
Can players continue playing with their club?
Absolutely. Our training schedule is designed to complement - not clash with - club training and matches.
Is there an assessment or trial?
We hold assessment sessions for interested players to experience the environment and allow us to meet those applying.
If you’ve missed the most recent session, that’s no issue - we’re still accepting applications and can arrange a follow-up.
Is the programme open to girls?
Yes. The programme is open to both male and female players, and training is delivered in a performance-focused, inclusive environment.
What does a typical week look like?
Students follow a structured weekly schedule combining on-pitch football training, S&C sessions, and classroom time covering core subjects and personal development. We balance high-performance demands with academic progress. Read more about our full-time TY football programme here
